ABOUT THIS COURSE

Introduction to Educational Psychology reviews the material typically taught in a one-semester undergraduate course in educational psychology. The course explores four major areas: principles of learning and cognition, teaching methods and classroom management, child growth and development, and evaluation and assessment of learning.

This is a free, self-paced Modern States course with no prerequisites. It is aligned to the CLEP® Introduction to Educational Psychology exam and is designed to prepare you to succeed on the test and earn college credit at no cost.

Modern States originally developed this course in collaboration with Norman Rose, Ph.D.. Dr. Diane Finley of Performance Consultants supported course enhancements published in 2025.
